Online Marketing 101: Traffic and Conversions

When it comes to online marketing, there are many things that a business owner has to consider. The main purpose of that marketing, though, is to get Web site traffic. Not everyone who comes to a Web site will buy something, but many will. The goal is to make the online marketing so effective that Web site traffic (the number of actual visitors to the site) turns into online conversions (how many people who visit the site actually make a purchase). When online conversions are high the online business makes a lot of money. That makes the marketing expenses well worth it and keeps the entrepreneur happy with the way that the business is going.

Web site traffic and online conversions are both very important for any online business that wants to be successful, but neither one of those things will take place if the marketing isn’t any good. Bad marketing not only stops people from buying from a site, but it can even stop people from going to a site to see if it has anything good to offer. Your Web site traffic might be low not because you don’t have a great site with a lot to offer but simply because your online marketing is not effective. It might be poorly written, not offer much of interest, or just offered to the wrong people. Your target market should be seeing your ads.
